The Arlong pirates offer exceptional damage and are a very powerful unit to have, however, they do require a certain playstyle. The Arlong Pirates are about one thing and one thing only. Dealing as much damage as you possibly can, as fast as you possibly can. They are a unit designed to rampage quickly through content, and as such, their usefulness suffers with prolonged encounters. However, with 3 turns of reduced Special charge at the start, amped up to 8, and even 10 with the right conditions, they are built to give the player access to as many specials as they can without needing to stall. They function similar to Kaido in being a speedrunning unit, but instead of mass aoe damage, they focus on extreme direct damage along with Specials. |
